Why We Think What We Think: The Rise and Fall of Western Thought

There are lots of books about Catholic philosophers. But there's no good book that puts those philosophers, from Augustine to McIntyre, into the larger context of Western thought and explains how so many of the ideas, concepts, and beliefs we take for granted come from these Catholic philosophers. We hear it said often that people don't recognize the Judeo-Christian underpinnings of Western culture, and that's certainly true (and a related problem).
