The Pugins and the Catholic Midlands

The English Midlands were the scene of some of the most important church-building activities of Augustus Welby Pugin, thanks in no small measure to the unstinting and lavish patronage of the 16th Earl of Shrewsbury. This book was first conceived by the Archdiocese of Birmingham Historical Commission to mark the 150th anniversary of the deaths of both men in 1852.
