Some paths are filled with persecution and thus require tremendous courage. One example is the path belonging to Dr John Fleming. Agnostic in his early to mid teens, John Fleming had a conversion, leading to his ordination in the Anglican Church. However, throughout his ministry he remained concerned about the question of authority in the Church and where it ultimately lay. He witnessed significant changes in official Anglican doctrines, such as the remarriage in Church of divorced persons and the ordination of women. All of this led Fr Fleming to reexamine his own position. See how the writings of St Thomas Aquinas, the study of Church history, the Second Vatican Council’s documents and the Scriptures, all helped with his response to Our Lord’s call, to make the courageous decision, and come into full communion with Christ and his Catholic Church.
