Most Christians are familiar with the New Testament accounts of the life of Christ. But many are unaware of the many times Jesus and the Holy Spirit are mentioned in the Qur'an and the Torah. Father Pacwa offers a deeper understanding of both Jewish and Muslim teachings on Jesus, Mary and the Holy Spirit, and points out the instances where the Bible and Qur'an agree, but mostly draws a sharp contrast between the two. Father Pacwa keeps firm on the relevance of the Torah to understanding the New Testament and highlights that in developing a greater understanding of the Torah and Qur'an, we might engage in more fruitful dialogues with our Jewish and Muslim neighbours and deepen our understanding of our own faith in the process.
Filmed at the Melkite Catholic Centre in Greenacre, Sydney, Father Pacwa fields questions about Islam and the Middle East, sharing his intimate knowledge of the Middle East and unique insight into the current state of global affairs. Fr. Pacwa explores the causes behind the recent tensions between Muslims and Christians, delving into the history of Islam and offering a brief glimpse into the life of Mohammed and the authorship of the Qur’an. With a keen insight into the different movements and sects within both Judaism and Islam, Fr. Pacwa offers an informed explanation for the current state of Jewish / Muslim / Christian relations.
