Monsignor O'Flaherty was an Irish priest stationed at the neutral Vatican during World War II. He quietly helped anyone, including the Jews, who sought aid to evade the Nazis. He was a master of disguises as he moved about Rome managing a network of safe houses and collecting enough gold to buy protection for a time for the Jewish community.
