Father Adrian Fortescue (1874-1923), one of the foremost authorities on the liturgy of the Roman Rite, was in 1906 to write a series of articles on the Roman liturgy for the Catholic Encyclopedia. Michael Davies not only compiled the thirty-five articles that Fr. Fortescue wrote but also wrote a sixty-page biography of the priest.
