In practising the Spiritual works of Mercy we bring ourselves and others closer to God. The seven spiritual works of mercy help us renew our interior life. Not only does the practice of the spiritual works of mercy help us grow closer to God they alleviate the unhappiness of others, allowing us to bring God into their lives and thus joy to their hearts.
